Who we are
Goodies operates in and around Edinburgh to reduce waste, support people and build community! Our work prevents food and other goods from ending up in landfills and instead redirects them to people who need them.
Our Mission
We collect surplus items from local businesses to prevent them from going to waste and redistribute them to people facing financial hardship. We want to reduce the impact that food waste has on the environment while helping members of our community.
We’re working hard to make sure no food goes to waste and nobody goes hungry.
Food Distribution
We work with businesses across Edinburgh to stop perfectly good food from going to waste and instead, we give it to people who need it. If you’re struggling to make ends meet or if you’d just like to help us reduce waste, then find out when and where to pick up food here.
Catering
We do catering too! If you’re hosting an event, check out our catering packages to find out how you can have a good impact on your community and the environment at the same time.
Cafe
Our cafe is a welcoming and safe space where the community can come together to share a hot drink, take part in activities, and build relationships.
Goodies Shop & Pantry
Our shop has loads of second hand items, including clothes, household goods, and furniture, available at great prices. Everything has been saved from going to waste and the proceeds help us keep our charitable activities running. You can also find our pantry, which is always bursting with fresh food available for a small donation.
Our Team
Goodies has been operating since the Covid-19 pandemic, when our founder Farrah noticed an increasing amount of supermarket food going to waste as well as more and more people struggling to support themselves. Goodies started with a hand-pulled wagon, and now we’re a growing team of around 30!
